Nurturing Rescued Equines, Restoring Hope and Health

We rescue at-risk horses, provide medical care, thoughtful rehabilitation, and forever homes where they can thrive.

Heartbeats Equine Sanctuary began in Cave Junction, Oregon, when  a retired trainer and a local vet joined forces to help neglected horses. What started as a few rescued mares expanded into a full-care sanctuary offering medical treatment, rehabilitation, and stable companionship. We prioritize gentle handling, consistent routines, nutrition, and transparent reporting to supporters. Every horse receives tailored care and a path to renewed trust and dignity.

What We Deliver

Rescue Care and Medical Attention

Permanent medical care for rescued horses, including vaccinations, dental work, hoof care, and pain management, delivered in a low-stress environment. Our team coordinates with local vets and monitors recovery progress, ensuring timely updates to donors and families.

Rehabilitation and Training Programs

Structured rehab activities, ground work, and enrichment tailored to each horse's history and temperament, accelerating trust-building and mobility. We track progress weekly and adjust plans to optimize safety and long-term well-being.

Adoption Matching and Post-Placement Support

Comprehensive adoption process, temperament matching, home checks, and ongoing support to ensure lasting connections. We provide post-adoption coaching, welfare visits, and access to resources. This reduces returned placements and strengthens the horse's new family.

We track progress with simple metrics and celebrate each milestone with riders, volunteers, and the horse's new supporters.

Adoption Readiness and Forever Homes
